The after market in shoes can be extremely lucrative. The right sneaks can be worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars. They are worth robbing someone for, but they aren't worth running someone over to retrieve them, that's what the police are for.

You seem to be saying it would be illegal but the shoe owner would probably get away with it. Why would it be illegal?

What if the shoe owner drove near the gun criminal and started taking pictures, but the criminal made a sudden movement, which the shoe owner interpreted as an attempt to shoot the shoe owner? Would the shoe owner then have a legal right to run over the criminal to keep from being shot?

I am not sure why the Seller is being charged with attempted murder as all he did was disarm the suspect!

"Two horrible people"??? What planet are you on? So a person who puts an ad on craigslist to sell something, meets the person who answered the ad, and gets a gun stuck in his face demanding the loot is in your warped view "a horrible person"? If you ever had a gun stuck in your face demanding money, maybe you would change your tune. That would make you a horrible person, wouldn't it?

Not two horrible people. One horrible robber thug person and one who is FED UP and lost control.

The problem is we allow criminals to get away with robbery and theft. What we need are laws enabling people to do just exactly what the robbery victim did, mow the scumbag down. Car, gun, bat, I don't care. Start killing these criminal scum and I promise you crime will stop completely in about a week.

Where the show owner was at fault was in not shooting him when the guy first pulled a gun on him.

Oh yeah, New York - only criminals are allowed to own guns there, to better enable them to prey on the rest of us and ghod forbid any lawabiding person defend themselves. The real criminals are the legislators in government.

Mow him down with a car, a gun, or a bat? How about a lawn mower? But it has to be a fast one, that doesn't stall every time you try to get rid of a weed. Using a bat could be a problem. What if you face his gun with your bat, and you strike out?

Technically, pointing a firearm at someone who does not pose an imminent threat is against the law in NY, unless its some kind of Mexican stand off over Nikes.

There might be some consternation about chasing the thief but the victim would have been within his rights to open fire at least as far as I'm concerned.

Not the way he did it in the video! Dude accelerated and drove right into the guy, no way anyone can argue that is intent was to run the guy over. The tape don't lie.
