How do Jewish people deal with crime victims? Not arguing just plain curious.
If an autopsy would genuinely assist a criminal investigation it's OK under the constraints discussed in the rest of your post. But where there is no real doubt as to how someone died, doing an autopsy, for example, to trace the exact path of the bullet through the body may be unwarranted. In general we're a religion of balancing rather than absolutes; but in the case of autopsies the balance is against an assault on the corpse.
That thread is already a million pages, no one here is going to start over from page one there to say basically the same things people are saying here, except with the added meanness of the Politics forums no-rules no-hold barred rhetoric.

Because of rules I make a point of transferring controversial comments to POC. I don't need infractions.
I also wondered if maybe they were ghoulish enough to have experimented on him just for kicks...
I agree that water torture is likely the cause for his condition but I would not put it past North Korea to use him to test theories about various quack remedies for his condition...
"Kwon reported about human experimentation carried out in Haengyong-ri. He described a sealed glass chamber, where he witnessed a family with two children dying from being test subjects for an asphyxiant gas."
Hard to comprehend modern day concentration camps where entire families are kept a lifetime because
one family member was accused of something.
I don't think this was mentioned in the thread. I usually find most of the programming on news show 20/20 to be tabloid-like and largely unwatchable.
Even so I managed to catch the show about Otto Warmbier and overall it gave some interesting insight about how rogue and hostile the government of North Korea is. This episode goes into a few details about the horrible prison camps inside NKorea.
What a very sad tale. I do feel sorry for Otto's family and friends.
He may have been framed/ hoaxed with the poster-stealing allegations. The video of the trivial incident is grainy, unclear, and a mere silhouette of a man who could've been ANYONE. And the silhouette did not appear to resemble Warmbier's height/build/stature. https://youtu.be/SzVGIAcLsf8
The dumb mistake he made was going into Korea, not the poster incident. That was incredibly stupid.
