Bad idea. I shouldn't have to explain why.

No, do explain. Disney World sells alcohol, has for years. Epcot even has a Food and wine festival, and is well known for "drink around the world". It has never been a problem there, so why suddenly would there be an issue at Disneyland?

True. I enjoy that aspect of Epcot and Disney World. After standing in line all day, walking, and doing kid centric things, I always enjoyed a drink with dinner at Disney World and Epcot.

I never knew Disneyland was dry.

Really, I highly doubt that Disneyland will become a magnet for the "drunk and disorderly". There are so many less expensive ways for a raving drunk to get their fix.

sheesh. i dunno.

((((((((((((((((sigh)))))))))))))))

someplace else has changed "with the times". gone "realistic".

so, i grew up in the 50's. Micky Mouse Club, Annette, Darlene, Jimmy.... Davy Crockett. Buffalo Bob. the Beave. The Cleavers. Ozzie and Harriet.

yeah, i know, it was a dream world. but what a nice, safe dream.

my kids grew up in the 80's/90's...... I've never been to any Disney park and either did they. Working 3 jobs, I still couldn't do Everything for them .... i'd save and then there'd be an ear infection, a vet bill, a broken bone, there were always piano/flute/sax lessons, soccer camp, basketball camp, boy and girl scout dues, wearing the "right" sneakers. (lol, Reebok was the rage) Parachute pants had to be worn. Madonna-like costumes had to be nixed I had to raise my kids alone and there never was that family trip to Vail to ski like some of my kids friends. I desperately felt a failure. Heck, I knew 3 year olds who had gone to Disney World.

But, I'd go to all their games, soccer, baseball, seemed like I was the only adult there without a cooler of wine and beer. As we sat under a too hot sun, and they had one too many, the fights would start, the language got bluer, the ref was confronted constantly, even their own children would be shamed for missing a shot. sheesh.... even the end of the season team party, the fathers were in the bar all night, while the most of the moms sat, clapped, listened to coach speeches, celebrated the trophies awarded.

same with the fireworks, we had to arrive early in the afternoon to stake out our fave spot, high on the **** of the CT river, but by dusk, it all would change, drunks stumbling around, falling out of boats, fights.

Ok, I'm a pollyanna or worse. But I mourn this passing of normalcy, life without a drink in hand. Somehow, well, i don't know how to say it, Disney-Worlds seemed untainted, wholesome. Yes. wholesome. not a word used much in todays culture. so call me a throwback or worse, it won't be the same. or as safe i fear. something else gone by the wayside, another sort of dream dead and gone. Another celebration where intact original intent gets moved to oblivion.

From the article... "For the first time in the park's history, alcohol will be available to all adult guests at Disneyland.", so apparently this IS a big deal at Disney World.

If the parents can't get through a day without knocking back a few at Disney World, pray for their children. Profit is the motive, children and innocence be damned.

It's good that Walt is dead and gone, otherwise he'd have had several heart attacks after hearing about all of Disney's "progressive" changes.

Wow, quite the rant over someone being able to have a beer at a theme park. I was a child in the 80's and I never saw any of that.

I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I was straitlaced and I thought I was more mature than all my friends. Turns out I just never learned how to have fun! I made up for a lot of that in the late 70's when I was between marriages!

When Busch Gardens owned their Sea World amusement park, they gave away free beer. But I never saw anybody loaded. I think it’s because you just paid a hundred bucks to get your family in, walked a dang half a mile from the parking lot, etc. People who do that just aren’t looking for the same experience as drunk twenty somethings on the Vegas strip.
Agree, sounds expensive when reading the article "famous concoctions created with exotic ingredients using “otherworldly” methods, served in unique vessels"

It's only a hop, skip and a jump to the grand opening of Disney's first beer tent, followed shortly after by sponsored chugging contests. The winners will walk about with a six-pack of Bud Light until Pabst gets involved and offers two.

People can't drink a Coke or Pepsi when they're in public with their children? What's the matter with people?

Walt was all about the profit! I really don’t think seeing an adult drink an alcoholic beverage is going to harm all the innocent children.
