It is also convenient that it happened on Memorial Day. Beautiful story!

What a great photo that is! I don't know if I'd have had the guts to do what he did.

Feel welcome to help any animal that is in distress, and I applaud you for it, but I am not morally nor legally bound to do the same, nor is there any reason why I should be..
What is wrong with you? You can't just read the story & move on? Or just write something positive? You feel the need to be sour? Poor you.

Of course it was a guy on a Harley to rescue the eagle. Harley people are all about eagles.

Both the guy and the bird are lucky here...
I worked at a Humane Society when I was younger. We had a Golden Eagle arrive, injured. It was HUGE, but very calm like this Bald Eagle.

What are a LOT BITCHIER BIRDS than Eagles, are Gulls.
They will clamp onto anything they can get their beaks into when you are trying to rescue them. Nasty strength in their beaks... like vise grips squeezing you, even when you're wearing big thick leather gloves!

What he should have done is also covered the eagle's head to keep it even calmer.

Those who learn to deal with highways will strengthen the gene pool. Like vultures, the "majestic" bird is a roadkill scavenger. Do we heriocally rescue vultures? Eagles are not endangered, there are more where that one came from.
Yes, there are plenty of us who try to rescue all creatures in this sort of distress. Lighten up, Francis.
