I don't know his name, do others? I don't even see this story on the news anymore, heck it really didn't get that much coverage even at the time. How much fame could he get? Its not like O.J. where they are constantly on TV. I think its money, not fame.
Michael Winkleman.
He makes a living off of lawsuits against cruise lines.
Don't need to win. They may be paid just to make it all go away.
Like most cases that never make it to court.
There was a short lived TV series called Shannon's Deal where a former corporate lawyer who was a gambling addict was trying to get his life back together. In any case he said his job as the corporate lawyer in this case was just to raise the stakes on the plaintiff doing the suing because his clients pockets were deeper they would win.
Even after 2020 you would think that a cruise line would be able to outlast the predatory lawyer who might have to actually work with the chance of no gain.

Ah, I did not know that. Geez. I guess he saw there was opportunity in it.
Reminds me of the time back in the 80s when suing for everything really took off, and The New Yorker did an article on law firms that specialize in winning large settlements for accident victims in the city.
The next week they published a letter from one of the firms they had named, and the letter said, "We resent being labeled as 'ambulance chasers'. We try to get there before the ambulance does."

It's hardly fame though. I think it's silly to say he's taking the case to get famous. He would never be a household name from a case like this. Again, it's not O.J.

No different than the stupid commercials on TV, all day long. "Were you a Boy Scout who was abused?" "Did you have a child born with Cerebral Palsy?" "Did you get cancer after using talcum powder?" Late at night some have 30 minute informercials now.
The people who call, even if legit, will get a pittance compared to these firms.

I did not say anything about fame. Cruise-line lawsuits are his specialty.

Did you have pelvic mesh installed that later became infected?
