The windows are tinted, they aren’t clear. RCCL could not have made it more obvious when a window is open. Every picture I’ve seen, even those taken at night, it is obvious.

It's only obvious to those who don't think the windows are alternating clear and blue. Which, when they first posted the pics of that deck, is what it looked like to me.

Agreed. Not sure I thought there was some design pattern going on of alternating clear and blue, but I did not automatically see that clear meant open.

That being said, it may be obvious in person. Photographs can look different than what the eye sees......at least to me.

I would need to see it in person and hear the grandfather's explanation of why he didn't think it was open before I made a judgement about whether I believed him.

Without that I think it is more likely than not that for whatever reason he believed the window was closed.

Does anyone else see a lawsuit being filed by the child's parents? These cruise ships normally sail under a foreign flag subject to the laws of a different country.

From what is stated there was only one open window so clearly no pattern, only a contrast in appearance.

I initially put blame On Royal Caribbean's. But the little I know in the pictures I've seen this seems to be an unfortunate accident. It's natural for the parents to wanna blame someone. My condolences to the family

No, I don't think any lawyer would take that case.

I'm also thinking back to when I was a kid, and realizing, that I never saw a grandparent lift up an infant or small toddler. Babies were considered so delicate, that they were left to the mother to handle. A 1-1/2 year old toddler might have been considered big enough to lift up for a hug, but not much more. Mostly, non-custodial adults would be content with cooing at such a small child in her stroller, or playing with her hands and feet a little, as the mom held her. Maybe grandparents are more hands-on these days?
I have a serious problem where I have depth perception issues, and was constantly walking into glass doors when I was a kid. When I got older and bought my house that had a sliding glass door, I had it taken out and refitted with a French door.

Horrible. Can you imagine seeing that?! How horrible to the parents feel...terrible! I don't think the grandfather should get jail or charges. But I do think he needs to own up to his mistake and the lawyer an family need to stop blaming the boat.
