Did Caesar escape?
My apologies, couldn't resist the Hollywood reference; I need humor these days.

We don't know why they were euthanized - maybe to hard to catch, maybe already infected with COVID.
At least two of the monkeys had climbed trees (as per photos). More than likely they were shot with darts that knocked them out and caused them to fall out of the trees. After that, lethal injection on the spot, maybe?

Why only those three? And why did they have to be euthanized? Maybe the frigid cold hurt them in some way?

Surely all involved have to know the public is interested in the details.

Why only those three? Because they were the only ones that escaped.

Let's wait and see if there will be any update...

I realize that. But why should that happen to the escapees? Does escaping from a cage warrant a death sentence to these poor animals?

If they were darted to put them asleep for quick capture, why did they have to be killed too? Medical reasons? Broken bones from the fall?

Because they aren't pets -- and they will likely come to a more humane end than their contemporaries in the wild.

Was sorry to read the euthanization. Two of those monkeys were shown being retrieved from a tree.. less then three
Pounds.
Sorry, different species.

OK. Let me put this another way.

Why were those three killed, while the other 97 weren't? Was it punishment for escaping?
