Making a majorly wild guess but I'd think more likely because they don't have any idea what those three might have been exposed to while on the loose. Probably nothing, but why take a chance on a possible contamination of the others still in confinement?

That, and the simple fact that capturing monkeys isn't the easiest thing to do in the trees of Pennsylvania. We aren't tree animals like they are. Those monkeys would need to be confined and then tested for everything imaginable.

I don't think they were "punishing" the monkeys. I think more the difficulty. Can't rep you again right now.

You make a good point, DubbleT. This makes sense to me.

It makes little sense to stun the monkey out of the tree and then kill it when they could easily re-cage it and continue on to the lab.

Can we trust what they say if there is an update?

I hope the little guys at least had some fun before being put down.

The others were still in cages. Only few cages opened on the impact.

This is proof humans are the cruelest creatures on this planet. It has been proven that we don't need to subject animals to inhumane lab research. I actually thought they stopped using monkeys. It isn't just US labs still doing this. The gov't is allowing foreign countries to buy farms and are doing painful research on animals in our country instead of theirs. What makes matters worse is they are doing painful research on thousands of animals every year, then killing them, and spreading their diseased remains on the fields. Fields that get rained on and go into the watershed. They buy farms in small towns and I am sure the politicians are getting big kickbacks from allowing this. The USDA will not make the inspection reports open to the public anymore so as not to "upset" anyone.

They should use inmates on death row, to do their research. Poor monkeys did nothing to deserve to be treated like that
