I used to work with a guy who twisted his ankle on the job. It was a possible workmen's comp issue, so he was sent to the company's doctor. They did a drug test, as they do ALL possible workmen's comp issues, found he had pot in his system, and lost his job.
The day after he got fired, he killed himself.
But the question is, was he a voluntary pot user or did he get fired because he went to a wedding where the bride drugged all the guests without their knowledge?

I like to think that doesn't happen very often. lol
I'm sure that's what the bride wanted to happen. But again, we get back to "drugging people without their consent." I don't like weed, in any form. It doesn't make me feel good; it makes me feel lousy, so I don't use it. My choice. But it is my choice--not yours, and certainly not the bride's in this instance. Especially if she thinks she's doing me a favour. If you like it, knock yourself out, but don't expect me to join in. It's not for me, and it sounds like it wasn't for a number of wedding guests either.
I like the "laxative in the brownies without guests knowing" analogy; it's the same thing. Not everybody wants a laxative in their food. Neither does everybody want weed in their food. Keep the weed out of the meal, and everybody can enjoy the celebration. If a few people choose to go out the back to partake, let them. Those guests who choose not to, do not have to. It's just that easy.
Exactly.
I looked to see if there were any updates and came across an article that talked a lot about how amusing the bride and the caterer found it to be. As people are throwing up and going to the hospital.
This isn't "people" it's one couple. It's like saying because a college kid in Nebraska spikes the punch it means "people" have been propagandized to believe alcohol isn't harmful. It's one idiot.
You are proving my point. The ambient culture used to celebrate and excuse drunkenness (I am old enough to remember those days). Spiking the punch used to be considered a harmless prank of youth, but now it would get any youth in serious trouble, probably involving the police and not just expulsion from school. It's just not done anymore, and rarely even joked about.

It’s not done with pot either though, except for this one couple. It’s not some epidemic. I think our culture still celebrates alcohol, look at the commercials on television for it and look at movies like the Hangover. This couple will be in serious trouble too.
