Welcome to Queen and Slim.....the Alabama prison version!
A 7-hour drive from Alabama to Evansville, Indiana. How many believe that they were "Assisted?"
Not me. I don't think the escape was as well planned as people are saying. Ditch car, steal car is as old as it gets when it comes to prison escapees.
And WTH was Casey White washing a stolen truck at a car wash? Not the brightest bulb in the box. I am very glad no one appears to have been injured but Vicky W. and I hope she recovers so she can answer for her crimes.... and tell us WTH was going through her mind

If you are running for your life why do you stop at a car wash to wash your truck???
I'm sorry to say that it appears very obvious that these two lack any degree of common sense.

I missed that too and thought to go back up to reread about it, but can't find anything in the posts. I think I remember seeing a picture of him at a car wash in one of the articles, but don't remember reading about it.
The sheriff in Lauderale said he's not taking anymore chances with Casey W.

Casey White was originally being held at the jail on capital murder charges in the 2015 death of Connie Ridgeway. Singleton said Monday that when White is eventually returned to Lauderdale County for trial, he will ensure he's in a cell alone with an enhanced level of protection.
"He will stay in handcuffs and shackles while he's in that cell," Singleton said. "And if he wants to sue me for violating his civil rights, so be it. He's not getting out of this jail again, I'll assure you that."

Vicky shot herself in the head? Good grief! Could that have happened accidentally during the rollover? How does someone survive a bullet to the head. That's horrible.
I hope she survives to tell us all why she did this.
Thanks. I hadn't realized they had abandoned the pick-up at the carwash; I thought it was the one they drove that crashed, but didn't see it in the pictures of the crash scene.

It's actually not as outlandish as it seems; it does happen (though I would imagine it's more frequent to die of such an injury; but never researched it, so don't know. All I know is that I have heard of people surviving such injuries).
It would seem self-inflicted to me. It just doesn't seem that probable that the gun would go off accidentally and get you in the head, but maybe gun owners and people more experienced in this sort of situation can clue us in more. It's just a guess on my part (and not too educated since I don't know that much about it!).
Even if she does survive, there's nothing to guarantee that she'll explain anything, is there? Can she choose not to say anything and just serve the time in jail? I think it's just supposed to be like 10 years, but then I thought I read something about new charges like forgery or something (and it doesn't seem like explaining anything would help; would saying something like Casey brain-washed her have any implications to her sentence? But then, maybe she'll just say that but it won't be what actually happened).
If she actually did shoot herself in the head and survives... that's potentially very horrible for her. I really despise what this woman did, but I can't stand the thought of torment like that of any kind. I just hope the gun shot wound is not that severe physically or physiologically. I think she should get justice served for her (but am glad that no one got killed by her foolish actions and need to understand that punishment is for not what might have happened but what did happen) and spend some in jail but I do not want her life to be like never-ending misery. I'm not sure I could wish that on anyone, at least not for a long time.
