There is the Sports forum, there is the Exercise and Fitness forums, both are more appropriate to host the Cycling subforum. This forum should be moved to Sports. People interested in cycling would not go to Hobbies forum to look for it.

Agreed. I always thought this was strange, from the time this sub forum was announced.
Agreed and have thought that this should be in Exercise and Fitness or sports forum for a long time.
I know most people think cycling is a dinky little kids activity and no disrespect to the moderators but I don't expect different from those who don't understand it - so it's not a big surprise to me.
I guess it can be seen as a hobby to some who bring out the gruesome looking comfort bike and take a spin 'round the block once a year in the spring or take it on vacation and think about riding it. But many here seem to be in or near the "avid" category.
I can see cycling under Sports AND under Exercise and Fitness. The sub-forum under Sports could be entitled "Bicycle Racing" and the other one left as "Cycling". There are certainly folks who view their cycling as transportation (commuting) and others who view it as enjoyable recreation without being too serious about the exercise aspect, so we can actually make a case for locating cycling in four different forums. That would probably be an absurdity, however.
How about putting it in the Education forum for those who have questions about wrenching.
Or the Finance forum for those who like to buy and sell bikes or have questions on the worth of the bike they want to sell or buy.
Or in the Food forum for those who want to discuss what sorts of things to use to fuel the engine - Real food likeGORP, PB&J, bananas, etc. or packaged and easy energy food like chews, gels, bars, etc.
