Yes! You will need to take precautions living anywhere. I once had a car broken into in a driveway in an upscale area in Mansfield! Lots of young professionals and students live at the Village properties. There are lots of cheap wireless alarm systems you can get for an apartment at the hardware stores, etc. if you are wanting additional security. Enjoy Dallas and I promise that the area will cool off about 8 weeks after you get here!
