Hi.

We are going for a weekend to Dallas, so we would like to know which places we should visit there, interesting things to see, etc. Also we would like to know the streets or areas for having parties or going to clubs. And if there are some outlets or shopping centers for buying some clothes.

Thank you.

This is Texas-OU weekend. You will see LOTS of burnt orange and some red (more than we would like to see ). If you are driving here on I-35 you will experience a LOT of traffic be it coming from the north or south. I know last year one person coming up to Dallas from Austin it took her over 6 hours . Expect a LOT of traffic on I-30 as well if you are anywhere near the State Fair especially on Saturday. Although, I do know a lot of people that go to the fair on that day and not the game and they say that during the game the fairgrounds are not that bad. You can take DART to the fair and it will let you out right at the front gates. On Friday night there will be different parties and such all over. It is not like it used to be though and things are more spread out. I'm not even sure they still do the big parties downtown at the West End but I think they do. So, if you make it here for Friday night then head to the West End and be aware that the cops are not afraid to arrest anyone for anything on that night as they don't want any trouble at all. Then on Saturday you can head to the State Fair of Texas (State Fair Of Texas - Fair Park in Dallas - Sept 24- Oct 17, 2010) and then later that night you can hit the clubs again and then shop on Sunday at NorthPark.

As for shopping, NorthPark Mall on Central Expwy and Northwest Hwy.

Main Street in Downtown is where most of the "clubs" are. McKinney Avenue in Uptown is lined with bars and lounges.

For shopping, check out NorthPark Center, the West Village, or Highland Park Village for really upscale window shopping (Hermes, Chanel, Harry Winston). Closest good outlets are in Allen (30 miles north of downtown) or Grapevine Mills (by DFW airport). Sam Moon is a tread cheap mini-mall for trendy jewelry and accessories.

As for sightseeing, The Nasher Sculpture Garden and the Crow Museum of Asian Art are the two best museum collections. There are a lot of art galleries in the Design District and on Fairmont Street in Uptown.

If you're a history buff, the Sixth Floor Museum and Book Depository and Grassy Knoll are all must see places related to JFK's assassination.

We love our sports teams here in Dallas, so if you're coming in the next month or so, check out a Rangers baseball playoff game, a Stars or Mavs pre-season game, or a Cowboys game.

Deep Ellum is a fun artsy warehouse neighborhood to explore, as is the Design District and Bishop Arts District.

Hope this helps!

Good suggestions - also check out Henderson Avenue (a.k.a. Knox-Henderson) and Lower Greenville.
