Hi:

We are thinking of building a home with Ryland (Quail Creek North Phase 4) in Carrollton.

Any opinions on the builder or the community for the first time homebuyer like me?

Thanks.

Looks like some of the homes now for sale in that development are listed for below the tax assessment. You should investigate whether the homes there are appreciating or losing value. I have looked in that development and the houses seem just fine, but since they are garden homes/townhouses you need to be careful about buying there. Depending on what you are prepared to spend and what your lifestyle needs are, you would do better buying a single family home in the Homestead or a garden home in CH.

Google up Ryland homes--
I think you will find long history of dissatisfied buyers
not a builder I would recommend based on what I know

and GET a realtor--I bet you have only been talking to the sales staff at the Ryland development--
NOT reputable source of information for a prospectiver buyer since they are paid to sell homes and have shelf life of day old flowers
