Central Market is so full of self-important d-bags, though. Every time I go there it's a miserable experience because the other customers are so pushy and rude. I have had people literally hit me in the legs from behind with their shopping carts because I wasn't moving fast enough for them. Reason? The people in front of me were stopped dead in the rat maze that is Central Market and I couldn't get around them. I've had people push me and cut in front of me in line at the checkout, too. Nowadays I try to avoid going unless it's right when they open on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Then the place is much less busy and it's easier to get through it.

I definitely agree with the Vortex. About Chow Baby, ever been to Genghis Grill?

I agree with TC a return of bloomingdale's would be nice.

El Pollo Loco : Flame-Grilled Chicken
I've seen at least one of those in the Bachman Lake area on Northwest Highway in Dallas.

Bloomingdales - agreed

I've been to Genghis Grill. It's just not the same. Plus every last sauce they have is full of sugar - except for the soy and garlic water! I've written them and requested that they put some "savory" sauces on their bar, but to no avail. Chow Baby had a Thai Lime Cilantro sauce that was HEAVEN. That, chicken & veggies, and a side of roti bread....aaaaahhhhhhh

And thanks for the recommendations for El Pollo Reggio - I'll definitely have to give them a shot.

I'd probably say mountains. Or a drier climate. Please, californians, bring your climate with you.

You must have it confused with another place. There's nothing listed on their web site for Dallas. The only sites listed for Texas are all in San Antonio.

As for the suggestion that Californians bring their mountains with them, that's cool and all but they can leave the earthquake faults at home!

My wife would say El Pollo Loco but I hate that place. I could go for Baja Fresh every now and then but it's not something I crave. They just have a particular burrito that I like and I dislike Chipotle with a passion.

There was a great hole in the wall Mongolian BBQ in Frisco behind Scotty P's/ Market Street but it closed down a ways back. It was owned by the same people who owned my fav Mongolian BBQ back in CA. I don't know why it closed. I was very sad. Ghengis Grill is too gringo for my tastes.

Other than that, my wishlist pretty much involves the TABC doing away with many of their silly laws that prevent really great craft brewers from distributing in this state and also limits currents distributing brewers from bringing some of the more limited release stuff out here.
