Bill Cosby Will Deliver the Commencement Address at Paul Quinn College

Legendary comedian and actor Bill Cosby will be speaking to the class of 2013 at Paul Quinn College during the school’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 4.

Paul Quinn College is opening the doors of the commencement ceremony to welcome members of the Dallas community to attend. However, the college will require all guests to have a ticket. Tickets are free and will be available for pick up from noon to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 30 through Thursday, May 2, in the Paul Quinn College Business Office, Room 219 in the John Hurst Adams Building of the campus. Each guest will be limited to obtaining a maximum of five tickets per visit to the Business Office. For more information regarding tickets, please call 214-379-5560

My church is having an event this Saturday for the community and I would like for you all to come out if you can. (This is a fundraiser for our church so please come out and support us) We are expecting at least 3,000 people in attendance. The Mayor of Dallas and the City Councilman will also be in attendance as well, so come out and enjoy the fun.

For the people who were not there yesterday, the Taste of Pleasant Grove was a success. For a church to put on a community event with less than 100 members (for the first time) is an amazing feat. To see Mayor Rawlings, Councilman Callahan and a person from the County was a blessing to the community (because it shows that they actually care about Southern Dallas). Our church is really trying to impact the Pleasant Grove area in a positive way.

There were thousands of people enjoying the event and we couldn't have done it without the help of the Lord. If you were in the area, you would have seen hundreds of cars lined up along Prairie Creek and Elam Roads. We couldn't believe the turnout. This is gonna be an annual event for us and we know next year is gonna be bigger and better.

I live in Lancaster and was told by my neighbor that a Desoto church, Church of the Disciples, is having some sort of debate on guns this evening at 6pm, I cant find any info about it. Anyone know anything?
