Okay. I have been here long enough to know I'm not gonna find New York pizza anywhere in Texas. Or Chicago pizza. Much less real Neapolitan pizza. But it seems the last few years the quality of pizza in the DFW area is getting worse, not better. I've been to so many places in the last few years. Even checked out many of the places mentioned on DFW Foodies. And can't find a pizza worth eating at any of them. Is there anywhere in DFW that makes an outstanding pizza?

My checklist:
Crust: Should be bready on the rim and strong enough to hold the ingredients. Dry but no "cracker" crusts.
Sauce: Should contain tomatoes, oregano, AND garlic at a minimum and not so thin it looks sprayed on.
Veggie topping: Real pieces, thick enough to identify what it is. Not just veggie shavings.
Meats: Real meat! and lower the salt content a bit guys. Pizza isn't supposed to be a pretzel.
Mushrooms: when I ask and pay for a double helping, I SHOULD GET A DOUBLE HELPING!!
Cheese: Mozzarella - come on, guys! This is pizza 101.
Cut: traditional wedges - none of this square/rectangular business.
Size: available in larger than 14 inch - 22 inch is perfect.
Cooks: someone who knows more than just throw it together & slap it on a moving wire belt.
Standards: New York, Chicago, Naples

Any suggestions?

You might like Cigarz on Gaston near Garland Rd/East Grand. The sign just says Pizza. It's next to The Goat.

It might help if you could list some of the recommended places you've been to but found lacking.

I should also mention Palio's. Due to this thread and my inability to drive to Cane Rosso currently, I ordered a pizza from Palios for dinner.

If you want some extra control over your pizza try the Papa Murphy's take n bake pizza places. For me its usually better than any chain pizza.
