I like Greenhill and Trail Lake but you wanting to keep kids in Barksdale would be better off with Cypress Point or Timber Cove with plenty of money to do any updates you may want.

Even with a plane, you'd want to avoid that property. A developer (you can Google the name - I don't want to get sued) purchased the airport itself some years ago, and is trying to chase off the the current homeowners by purposely running the facility into the ground, with the eventual intention of closing it down and redeveloping the land.

I read about it but HOA is holding on to their guns so probably its not going to happen. If it does happen and they make a fancy shmancy subdivision then existing home values would go up so it may pay off otherwise you'll be stuck with lots of noise and a big storage room.

It was originally listed for $900k so it is a Mega Deal and it does feed to Barksdale. I'm sure it must be torture for the owner. It is a lovely home but how many buyers own aircrafts.

If you saw the Greenhill house in person you would see that it is below the level of the road and has a cramped driveway/garage area. All the houses on that side of Greenhill are below road level. The even numbered [address] houses on across the street (that backup to the little park area) are all above the road level, but are smaller. I would never buy a house that is below the grade level of the road it is on.

Cypress Point is a nice area and a great location...as is anything in far west Plano.

Thank you for the tip but its outside the PISD border so not considering it. Now it makes sense why its much better than other houses and yet priced rather low.

I've been in the 2516 Timber Cove house (as I have a number of houses in the Cypress Point neighborhood) and it is nice, but I think the asking price is too high at $534,900. The owner may sell it for close to what he's asking, but the assessed 2012 tax value was only $408,096...for whatever it's worth. Very nice area...

The tax values are routinely 100s of thousands less than market value.

Routinely? Nope... Do you live in this immediate area?

Our realtor's analysis approves it, he said that in 2010 or 11 we could've offered 480k but in today's market we cant go below 97% as it just came on the market. We are familiar with the neighborhood as it is really close to Barksdale. Our realtor sold a house there few years ago and his client adores their little neighborhood so yeah very interested but just can't say if we want backyard backing to the road. I wish it was backing to the creek. That's what keeping me interested in Cypress Point house. Let's see!
