My excel-fu is weak.

However, a couple of simple moving averages might be instructive.

Hockaday

NMSF 3 year moving average:

15+22+24/3 = 61/3 = 20.33 NMSFs per year

4 year:

S+20/4 = 81/4 = 20.25 NMSF's per year.

5 year:

S+15/5 = 96/5 = 19.2 NMSF's per year

I'm clawing back 30 years but IIRC my t-tables and confidence factors that means, absent something weird, there's about a 90% chance Hockaday will have 20+-4 NMSFs next year.

Correct, sorry for any confusion.

But as an exercise, I bet that by taking the averages as EDS demonstrated, we could make very close predictions as to what the 2015 numbers will be. Since the NMS people don't do the courtesy of simply making the PDFs publicly available...

They know their district, that's the reason they housed new health and IB academies at Plano East. STEAM Academy is in central Plano. This was Plano Senior's first year without Jasper but they are working to bring Vines & Clark at similar level. Plano West has established itself as the best open enrollment public school in state. All three schools are already way ahead of most schools.PISD board just won award of best board in Texas. PISD is ahead in their game and Plano's corporate residents are very interested in supporting them. Their "Head Honcho" has little to worry about. :-)

The problem with that is number of data points. It may make sense for DFW in total but it will be hard to predict with just 4-5 years of data on a particular school. For example, see how rezoning affected Plano Sr. vs. West plano... just my 2 cents...

The required score is state-wide, not by school or school district.
Is that what you are asking?

No. I am aware of the qualifying score for the state.
My question is about the number of students qualified as national semi finalists from each Frisco high school. Similar to the stats published by OP for Plano high schools.

I see many threads comparing Frisco schools and Plano schools, I thought these stats will be helpful in that comparison too.
