Sad - Texas used to take great pride in having good roads and good public schools. That is apparently no longer the case
Statistically, Texas has more roadway miles (and less congestion that is attendent with more lane miles) than most major cities in the US. Statistically, it's possible that we spend entirely too much on highway building (or the low congestion could be a driver of Texas' growth - I've not seen any studies that answer that either way) compared to other states.

I just moved to DFW from NY/NJ and I still find the tolls here to be an absolutely bargain. I used to pay $8 in parking to pick someone up from the airport. And I used to pay $12 just for the privilege of crossing a bridge every day for work.

You say Dallas is a bargain, yet you only paid $8 to park at the airport? I could swear Dallas residents told me it costs $22 to park at Dallas International. Was I misinformed?

It's $22 to park 24 hours at the terminal at DFW.

Poodlestix, believe you overlooked the fact that europeanone stated that he USED to pay $8 in parking to pick someone up from the airport. That would have been in NY/NJ, not here at DFW!

Here is the current breakdown of hourly and daily parking costs at DFW - low to high:

Terminal Hourly Rates (up to 24 Hrs) for DFW Parking:
0 min - 30 min........ $2.00
-- w/ TollTag.......... $1.00
30 min - 2 hours..... $3.00
2 - 4 hours............ $6.00
4 - 6 hours............ $9.00
6 - 24 hours......... $22.00
-- w/ TollTag........ $20.00

Daily Rates for DFW Parking:

Remote parking = $9 per day

Express parking = $11-$13 per day

Terminal Parking = $20-22 per day

DFW Airport Valet Parking = $27 + tax per day
