We're new here so I'm not sure if I was just dreaming. Around 4am I heard sirens and then several minutes later, there was a voice over a loudspeaker. Not sure what they were saying. It seemed to last about 15 minutes. What am I supposed to do in that situation? Wake everyone up and move to the middle of the house? I hate to be so ignorant but I really don't know😳.

Turn on the TV and see what's actually happening. I was up at 3:30 with storm sirens and the weather app on my phone going off.

Do you have stairs? The closet under them is a good spot. We also have our master closet.

We keep our under the stair closet well stocked with water, bedding, snacks, flashlight, radio etc and consider it our storm shelter.

Go to a interior area of the house with no exterior walls and that has a lot of support as in walls, ie a closet under stairs if you have such a 5 Hong works well. Some go so far as to put a mattress over them if room allows, this prevents damage to you from falling debry. Tornados are strong but impact a small localized area so the odds it doesn't hit you directly are very much in your favor.

I live in West plano and heard the sirens going off as well.

An app on my phone woke me up even though we weren't under a tornado warning. Facebook was full of friends complaining about the siren waking them up. I didn't hear it (too far away) but it must have been pretty loud.

A friend said there was a small tornado/wind whatever in the Fairview/Allen area last night. It knocked over a Christmas tree at the shopping center on Stacy Road.
