There is no middle class. Everyone who makes more than me is in the upper class, and everyone who makes less than me is in the lower class... therefore, the middle class is non-existant

But seriously, there seems to be more of a middle class here than where I lived back on the east coast.

Here is an article from the DMN that touches on this subject

Income gap growing in Texas, groups say | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas | Latest News (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/040908dntexincome.32b57b0.html - broken link)

and I think the last paragraphs sums up the climate of TX economy:

>> While many Texans have low incomes, they are part of a growing economy and can move up, Mr. Sullivan said.

"You can either live in Texas, where you may be poor but you have lots of job opportunities, or you can do what these people propose and turn us into Michigan or Illinois, which are hemorrhaging jobs," he said. "There, if you're poor, you stay poor." <<

There are many middle class people who don't own their homes but are renting to be close to the attractions of Central Dallas.

Not true at all.

Dallas has the following;

Really wealthy (beyond rich) located around Highland Park and University Park
The rich can be found in many locations.
The poor can be found in more than many locations
Then there are the 30K single and 50k married millionaires, that are outnumbering the poor, the rich, the wealth and the middle class.

When you see all these four above, the remaining is the middle class. And the middle class is good. They are very well educated, humble, easy going, kind, but not as easy to find as the others.

Not true! I was amazed when we moved here how reasonable good housing is -- you definitely don't have to be rich to live here, and there are great, affordable houses in great areas.
