We love the growth and jobs etc. But are all the new people a good thing? Crime is up in Dallas, so is the cost of living.

Crime is up in Dallas because DPD is severely understaffed and a more lenient DA (both reasons that merit their own thread), not because of the population increase. Besides, most of the DFW population growth hasn’t even happened in Dallas County.

Give me life in a growing, thriving metro area ANY DAY over cities that are declining or stagnant. Growth = opportunity, plain and simple.

Growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum, new people are the ones behind money influx.

Amen. Common sense.

Traffic and housing sure are horrendous but reason is poor city planning and lack of mass transit. Before adding more people and business, we should’ve planned better for social and infrastructure support for new influx.

Nope. But you're asking this on a forum full of upper middle class transplants who are the very ones who have contributed to too much growth too fast, and snobbish upper middle class long-term residents who all the rapid growth doesn't effect very much anyway, so..........

Too much, too fast. I would have liked to have seen a more controlled growth. Traffic is horrid and natural resources are strained.

It’s a valid question, being asked in different languages since Adam & Eve relocated to earth.

Exactly. A controlled and planned growth could’ve resulted in less chaos. Instead of blaming growth, we need to find solutions to make smart improvements.
