People swear by some of the food at the Monk - also you could try local institution
Kuby's Sausage House for a day trip then you could then walk around Snider Shopping Plaza and take a tour of SMU.

Cyndii's Deli (sp?) on Central is supposed to be true to character of a NY deli w/ great sandwiches. It has been around FOREVER just never been myself. Is the deli down in Preston Center still there on Sherry Lane??? They had great sandwiches including Reuben's. Humperdinks makes an AWESOME Cuban.

I third the Monk and second Kuby's. Kuby's had a store and a restaurant. Authentic German food. It's really quite good! We BBQ'd a bunch of different brats from there last weekend. I really like the Chipotle Venison Brat. Spicy with
tons of flavor.
