We are moving to Dallas from the UK and would like to find a nice suburban area with good schools/preschools. Any recommendations?

Need more information like budget, what part of town will you be working in. What kinda of commute are you willing to accept. Your question is to general to give accurate information.

Additionally how much cultural diversity you are looking for, for instance Richardson has a very diverse population. (from all over the world)

There are a lot of nice suburban areas in Dallas. Need more information, especially where will the job be located and how much can you spend?

Also what constitutes a nice suburb to you? What kind of architecture are you drawn to? What kind of yard do you want? Huge mega schools that seem more like colleges or small hometown schools? New construction or mature landscaping and trees? and of course price range and commute!

In addition to all questions Grainraiser asked, let us know where about the UK are you moving from. Some of us who have lived there may be able to give you comparable towns etc...

Hi Katie,

I just joined this forum for the very same reason. My family and I are moving from Manchester (Wilmslow) to the Dallas area this summer. Might be worth while comparing notes and sharing info along the way. I think we'll be covering a lot of the same issues...drop me a note if you're interested.

Thanks
Tony

Do to family considerations, along with the fact that we are sick of our socialist state, we are looking to move from Buffalo, NY to Dallas. We have relatives in East Dallas and was wondering what are the best east suburbs of Dallas. Also, how is the employment situation in Dallas, especially real estate and attorney jobs?

The best burbs to the east would be Rockwall and Sunnyvale. Choose Rockwall if you like a sprawling and fast growing surburb. Sunnyvale would be better if you like a small quaint burb located closer to Dallas.
