No 1-acre lots in Grapevine. Look in Argyle and Double Oak, and the community in Flower Mound that Renlouis suggested.

Thank you for the info. We want a large enough yard for pool and run around room, but don't want to be too far from Grapevine. The price range is below $700,000.

I would suggest Southlake. Several homes in your price range with some acreage and pool. Very short commute to Grapevine and still get the best schools around. Although that is not too important to you yet since you're not quiet there yet but always good for resale.

Colleyville would have been an option too but there are only has 2 homes and they both need MAJOR work.

here are more than 2 homes in Colleyville with larger lots under 700K--about 10 on the MLS site I checked--some are dated, some are not--some higher priced ones can be had for lower price--this is buyer's market for the most part...
there ARE more homes in Southlake on larger lots in your price range than Colleyville--but remember that means larger tax bill as well probably...

For the price you have to work with you might find a 1/3 to 2/3 acre lot with a nice pool & house.

With over 6 million people in the metroplex, the hardest thing to find here is a house with land. If you don't mind a 1 hour commute you can find something north or west of Grapevine.
