Hi

We are planning a move from Plano, we want a new build, and have narrowed it down to Allen or Murphy.

We have two 7 year old boys, wife works near LBJ and Coit.

We need good schools and local parks etc. etc.

Thanks in advance for your comments on which area is best and why.

Paul

Either, have you looked into Lucus or Parker?

Are you looking for elbow room?

I think that's going to be too far out for us.

I've just heard that Murphy schools are having a problem with gangs. That doesn't sound too good.

I would pick Allen, because I would pick Allen ISD over Plano ISD.

No kidding. My daughter has a TON of friends in the PISD schools in Murphy. Most of them are families that are regular church going, involved in the kids lives, etc. I think the OP would be surprised at the number of "white bread American" the area looks like. Oh, this also includes "wheat bread American". Just saying they look like your average family and chasing kids to soccer, lacrose, hockey games.

While I might not like the PISD I'd go w/ the East side schools over the Allen ISD. Just mho.

Somebody told my wife at work.

It might be easier if we just stay where we are!

Obviously someone that doesn't know anything about East Plano or Murphy at all. My daughter has a lot of friends from church in the schools in Murphy. She wants to move there so she can go to school w/ them.

Take a drive out there if you have not. Go in the stores and see the demographics. All of the stores are new and really nice. There is a new Sprouts there as well. Several good places to eat as well. Has a totally different vibe than the west side of Plano.
