You'll get an invoice from the NTTA for the exact amount violated within 2 weeks after you turn your car in. Rental companies just give them your contact.

The exit at Preston is only $0.50. THe main tolls are $1.
If you ran all the other tollbooths, that's going to add up to an expensive trip around the metroplex. When they have to mail an invoice, they add additional charges.

How does the whole toll thing work? Isn't there something that reads your pass and doesn't allow you to pay cash? Where do you get the pass and how much is it?

there is a toll place at 635 and Inwood and another on Park and the Dallas North Tollway. Or just go to ntta.org and order one online. THey charge money to your credit card, and then keep debiting the money as you use it. THere is no actual fee for the tolltags.

Is one dollar enough for 5-10 minutes drive? This is how much tol road used: I got on the toll road at the cossroad of highway 635 and Dallas North Toll Road, drove to PGB tollroad, and got off at Preston. I one dollar enough? If not, do I need to go to court for that? Thank you.

There is a price marked at each tollbooth. What did the dollar amount say? If you got on the Tollway at 635, you passed a main tollbooth at Keller Springs which is $1. Then, when you went from the Dallas Tollway to the Bush Turnpike and exited Preston, that was another $0.50. You have to pay at each tollbooth you pass, not just the one when you exit.

You won't go to court. They'll send you a bill and you pay it.

I only seen one booth at 635 highway, paid one dollar. Then never saw another at the exit of Preston. It is the exist booth. I guess that is not the place I have to pay. How do I pay for 50 cents? It is annoying. This is first time I visit Dallas. It is a rental car. I just don't want anything on my record. Thank you.

Interesting the NTTA does not provide info pertaining to rental cars. I'm sure there are lots out there and it's got to be a problem. There is nothing included in the FAQ:
https://help.ntta.org/QA/FAQs/

Here is their phone number:

Thank you. I will call them. I wonder how long I have to wait for them to have my car plate in the system.
