Why don't they build a new toll road a few miles east of 75 it could split off of 75 in northern Collin or southern Grayson county near County Line Road and run near where highway 5 is through Mckinney and through Plano and Richardson and Garland and cross 635 in Mesquite and go into downtown. Maybe it would relieve some of the traffic on 635 and 75. 635 between 35 and 75 is a zoo. Dallas North Tollway isnt that good of a road it doesnt go far enough north.

The Tollway is going to go even further north up to Lake Texoma.

635 is about to be expanded - or double decked. There will be new toll lanes.

if you read his post more carefully he is talking about a highway that runs north and south into downtown. 190 runs east and west

Missed that as most of his post (and his others) don't make a lick of sense. Why would a road go from McKinney, thru Garland and Richardson and then cross LBJ in Mesquite. That means it would have to go east and west. And then the tollroad not going "far enough north"????? It's almost to Oklahoma.

The tollway needs to be extended into Oklahoma to Durant. It would relieve a lot of the load on 75 and it would also make it very easy to get to Love Field airport, Lake Texoma, and it would give some redundancy if 75 is blocked because of wrecks or traffic. If the Oklahoma portion could be run by Bryan county it would create revenue. I don't know who would run the part in Grayson county but it would be better if the state of Oklahoma is not involved with running the toll road in Bryan county because they don't like people driving into Texas.

They need to quit building new highways in DFW altogether. Every study every done about new highways points to the same fact: they are counter productive. They promote more traffic because they encourage people to live further away from their place of residence. It takes approximately four years for a highway to create enough traffic to make the new highway essentially worthless and have just as much traffic as the whole highway did.

Of course, this will never happen since we live in such a crazy car culture. I can't imagine the day a politician tells their constituency that they are not going to allow any more highways to be built. It's just political suicide even though it makes perfect sense.

Do you mean the new tollroad you're proposing or the existing tollway??? I'm confused. We already have 75 (turns into 69) and 35 that go north from Dallas into OK.

The toll road I am proposing would start in Bryan county in durant and split off 75 and head east of 75 maybe 8 miles east and make a right hand 90 degree turn in Mesquite to the west and go into downtown parallel to 30.

That's a lot of eminent domain work for some law firm.
