For August in Texas, that's hard to complain about.
I pulled the thermal underwear out...

I have been down here a little over a month after living in MA all my life. I will take the 105 degrees over the humidity in NE any day. THe other day it was more humid in the morning than it has been and I remembered how disgusting you feel when you are out in that weather. I love the weather so far (last year down here must of been hell though for SOOOO many days that hot) and believe me the weather can change faster than NE at times!

I moved away from 34 peaceful happy years in Dallas two years ago. I'm now in the Tampa Bay area which I have renamed Thunder Bay. From May to September it rains almost every day. Last summer it qualified as simple rain but this summer it's rain storms with thunder that rolls on and on and on some more. Not always with lightning nearby but often so close it jars the house making me and the animals jump and me looking out windows to see if anything is burning.

As already mentioned by others, it is very humid here. But I'm not outside much so for me it was hot in Dallas and hot here with winter so mild I don't need the pile of socks I wore around the house during winter in Dallas. When the sun is out here in Thunder Bay, the sky is a dazzling blue peppered with fluffy white clouds. Most of each day this summer has been gray. Take a look at weather for Tampa and you will see rain storms for today, tomorrow, next day and the next ......

The RNC starts the 27th so there will be a lot of activity with media and Thunder Bay will probably keep them wet.

If you like pretty night lights, as of Aug. 10th Tampa now has five bridges outfitted with colored lights underneath. I haven't seen any of it in person yet so here's a few pics from the news. I'm not sure if each bridge has alternating colors. I'm still doing my rain dance for Dallas so hope it works.

I really miss Dallas and my Texas friends!!!!

A lot of all time lows were set last night.

US record lows outpace record highs 127 to 4 this weekend | Watts Up With That?

We typically get these fronts in mid-September in TX.

Sure feels nice!

Today was pretty nice for August. I was just commenting on how extraordinary it is that it's 68 F in August. At this rate, I might actually have to break out the jacket this winter.
