our evenings I seen it 98 degrees at 9pm. I am not sure how low it goes over night but I bet never below 85.
The forecast for Death Valley today is 121 degrees at 5pm with the humidity at only 3%.

The key is to stay out of the intense sun and stay hydrated.

worse than I thought.

Yes, that's a no brainer to stay out of the sun. Not easy for people who like being outdoors.

I got a LOT of rain last Wednesday afternoon when that system came thru. Got some on Thursday morning as well. Then back in January there was that storm that came thru on either June 10th or 11th (we were out of town) but it knocked down a LOT of trees across the area.

Just dropped my oldest off for a Bible study they are doing in a low income area outside for the kids. They get to go inside some but a lot of it is outside in the shade. They had plenty of water and gatorade. You got to drink Gatorade or something like it as well to get the electolites back into your system. Water doesn't do it. Pickle juice is a good source as well.

Where you been Kootr? Been missing you and Cobb lately

This is a notion that I have yet to understand or agree with. When heat gets to a certain temp I don't care if it's 1% or 100% percent humidity. Hot is hot and it can be very unpleasant. Humidity doesn't matter to me personally.

We had a good rain last week - and a little hail.

I had a bit of an electrical problem over the weekend -the line from the pole partially came loose - so had a few 110 plugs working and the rest was out -- down to one tiny little window AC unit - I had a fan and some iced tea - it was hot but not really that bad. I even did a little work in the yard (mostly in the shade)- and sat on my porch reading the newspapers (Sunday is alway DMN + NYT).

I am officially acclimated after spending nearly all day on the 4th outside. My late Daddy would be proud - he thought folks were terribly spoiled with AC and didn't get out enough.

High humidity makes people feel hotter in the summer because it reduces the effectiveness of sweating to cool the body by preventing the evaporation of perspiration from the skin.

Would you rather be hot and dry - or hot, sticky and soaking wet from head to toes with sweat? I'll take hot and dry any day...

Uh... it's Dallas summer... it is a little warmer than normal by a couple degrees, but complaining doesn't help. Either live with it or move.

not the west part of the metroplex... looked like it was going to rain in the AM last week and Dallas county had a severe Tstorm warning. BUT Tarrant county was dry. I was stupid and turned off the sprinklers for hop of rain!

The lack of rain is what kills me more than the heat....weeks of no cloudy days and no rain, then add temps at 100+ or above. yuk.

BUT.... not having to shovel 1 itoa of snow in 18mo.... a good trade off!!!
