I'm pretty sure you could cover 100% of my flight costs, no problem. And the only "take-out" I'll be doing is gyros. mmmmmmm......gyros.

Back to weather (even if not technically the OP's subject matter! ), looks like the region is in for 2-4 inches of rain in the next couple days! Hope there's not much inconvenience from minor street flooding, etc, but it sure ought to help things look nice & fresh in the spring! Can't wait to make a return trip soon to check out more things.

We definitely have some rain moving into north Texas. The forecast is for 1.5" to 3.5" over the next few days. We need it.

Default Flash Flood Watch Tonight

Imagine that. Rain.

Where are all the "canaries in the coal mine" and "Texas is moving into a megadrought" and "chickens coming home to roost" people now?

Sure is nice to hear it rain.

Should be a really nice spring!

Have we caught up to the averages yet? I mean, I love to hear the rain as well, but actually "flash food warnings" are worse than slow steady showers. The latter gradually saturates the soil, the former means a rapid runoff that won't do as much good.

A couple of days of rain does NOT end a drought. When the lakes are full once again THEN it'll be over. Yes it IS nice to hear the rain.

Many areas have already received as much as 4"-7" of rain. That should definitely help to fill the area lakes. I'm not so sure it makes much difference if it is a soaking rain or a flash flood rain with reference to re-filling the lakes.

That WILL have an effect on area lakes - not just the amount of water physically falling, but all the runoff as well. Water won't be pretty for a while, but it's a great thing for the lakes! Just hope there's not too much flooding now! (Feast or famine...)

Over 5 inches and counting here in Sherman. The dry creek bed behind our house is a raging torrent of water! Heard Chase Oaks golf course is almost completely under water.

Lakes should do well because the ground can't soak up this much rain that fell so hard. Feast or famine for us!
