I understand as I've pointed that out several times already. It's also not almost 2%. Also, as I mentioned in my last post, the table you linked to shows a 1.1% growth rate from 2010 to 2013. (For anyone else who's been following this long back and forth between Amanda and me, we got 1.3% from using the 2010 Census count as a baseline, which apparently the Census itself doesn't use to calculate growth between years.)

I think you're just putting a little too much importance on ~.5 of a percent when dealing with an estimated number. So it's not 2%, that's fine. There's still a good source that theorizes we are out of the freefall which is what I was pointing out.

Yes, but the table you used as a source clearly provides the growth rate from 2010 to 2013. It's much closer to 1% than 2%. Having said that, I understand it's easy to overlook figures in a chart like that. Also, we now know which figures the Census uses to calculate population growth between counts.

Firm plans more jobs, move to Austin Center | www.mydaytondailynews.com

I am glad they are adding more jobs, but it sure would be nice if this development (area) brought in new companies and not just companies from other cities in the area.

^Agreed. I know we've had the discussion before, but it seems like Austin Landing was built almost to poach jobs rather than create new ones....

Yeah, the net benefit just isn't that great. Sure, there have been some new jobs, but it isn't like most would have left if it wasn't for Austin Landing. They would have just stayed where they were or tried to expand somewhere close by.

^Exactly. Oh well. And it's not like outside companies couldn't have been recruited to the development. Look at Vandalia's success pulling almost 100% new ventures to Stonequarry Crossing by the airport for any indication. The same could have been done at Austin Landing, but it would have been harder....

Anyways, Jersey Mike's is expanding across the area:

Therapy Cafe is remodeling its space at the Cannery:

And a number of Dayton-based companies are opening new offices and other outlying operations in other cities... I think there were like 3-4 separate stories of this in today's and yesterday's DDN and DBJ.
