Unless you live east of 141 and are going to Staten Island a "3 hrs to NYC" is a far statement. New Castle Airport to MetroPark NJ Transit is 1hr-45 mins and the NJ train to NY Penn is 1-hr. And very few times of the day can you make the drive into Manhattan from New Castle Airport in less than 2hrs-30 mins. A 3 hr to NYC is a fair statement.

Have you been to Staten Island Charley? I was just wondering what the differences were between here and Delaware.
SI is not a big place.. Chances are one of my boys knows, or knows someone who knows your son. LOL.. Has he been here long?

He's only been there a few months. He located there to be closer to his job than he had been. I was there many years ago, but only as it related to being on the other end of the Staten Island Ferry ride from Manhattan.

that doesn't count Charley.. LOL..As kids we used to ride the ferry just for the fun of it and then turn around and come home again. But then I started working in Manhattan.. and it wasn't quite as much fun.

I digress..

Are there any waterfront areas in De. that are known to have flooding problems?

Yes, most of them. Here's the FEMA site. Plug in an address and the map will come up showing the flood areas. Click "VIEW",not "buy". If the property is in a designated flood area, a lender will require that you purchase flood insurance. The dark shaded areas indicate designated flood plain.
