Thank you

Hi Laurel,

I"m not sure for we are new to the area but from Dover to New Castle, I would say route 1 would be a breeze.
There are two tolls of $1 each from Monday till Friday at 8pm.
Weekends are $2 each.
We have found Route 1 to be a great road to travel between Dover and New Castle. Hardly any traffic and you pretty much sail through.

Anyone else have anything to dispute or add??

Hardly ever have a problem with route 1. I suggest easy pass for the tolls and you are good to go. Only time traffic might be a problem is two weekends a year when Nascar race is in Dover.

I live in NJ and am really scared of alot of heavy traffic and I would do the ride from Central NJ to Dover ANYTIME!!!!! We left yesterday after 12:30 from here to see a home 20 min. south of Dover and was in Dover about 3:00. It was a nice ride home today and I didn't have to be tortured with crazy drivers. Impressed me!!! I thought it was going to be alot worse. There is worse traffic here. Now if you want bad traffic and a TERROR go thru Baltimore towards DC. I would rather bungee jump, NAKED and it wouldn't be a pretty sight LOL LOL

Hi..I'm from NJ and read your pleasant posts on here. I was in your area yesterday & today and it is really nice. We looked at a house in Felton the took a ride to the bay. What area would you recommend for peace and quiet, not total selcusion, around 3 acres, ranch house, say no more than 20 years old, within 30 min or so of Dover?

Marydel? Hartly? Harrington? Milford? I know of at least, one - 3.5 acre parcel for sale now, with a small house under $225,000, 20 minutes from Dover. I'm sure there are more.

Hi and thanks for your compliment

We are new to DE and live in Magnolia. Guess I would have to say Camden,
magnolia, Felton or Fredericka. This area is nice cuz you are not far from Dover which is great for shopping
good luck

I'm not fond of heavy traffic either one of the main reasons why we are leaving Calif. we never go anywhere because it's bumper to bumper traffic ALL the time. I hate it. I can't even image going to point A to point B and it being a nice drive. LOL

When I use google earth to see how long it takes to get to a destination it say's it could take and hour to go 38 miles??? Really? Is it because speed limits are really low there. This was on the 1 and 13. Which leads me into the next question, are there a lot of traffic cops or speed traps there?

It seems like it's just farm land. I would love to find a nice place that had some mature trees on the acres.
