That is the best summary I've ever seen published. Maybe Mike should make it a sticky.

First time visitors from sea-level areas need to know there's a need to drink a lot of water upon arrival as the altitude and dry air will suck the moisture right out of you and in some cases cause altitude sickness, especially if going up into the mountains (aka the high country). Thinner air means the sun's rays will burn your skin in a hurry, so if you're fair-skinned consider long sleeves, sunscreen and lip balm. The sun is a lot brighter the higher up you go so sunglasses are essential, plus a hat to shade the eyes. The dry air will dry out your sinus tissue and cause nosebleeds so have saline nasal spray with you. New arrivals should go easy on drinking alcohol as the effects are worsened at altitude.

Read the comments at the end of the article. They kind of remind me of certain individuals that occasionally post on here plus they are entertaining.

I tell relocation folks that Mother Nature is schizophrenic - or has "Dissociative identity disorder - you know like Sybil." They nod as if they understand. Then all of a sudden, it makes sense.

People who have lived here a while, understand that we are in the June weather pattern. Yes, I know it's not yet June. Hence the reference above.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I was wondering why I didn't see a lot of mountains in the pictures. Can you see them right outside Denver?
How about Boulder?

Thanks! ;-)

Boulder is against the foothills and you can definitely see them from Denver.
