That's different from what I've seen in Denver (each house has a neighborhood school with a guaranteed spots for kids), so I had to look it up.

Is it that Stapleton kids are guaranteed a spot in one of the schools across the zones? You list them in order of preference and will get a spot in one.

I'm guessing there's priority for returning students and siblings?

I'd look in Superior. The houses are not brand new, but they are newer. Great schools and very close to work.

Yes, you are guaranteed a spot in one of the schools in the zone, just not your top choice or the one that is closest to you geographically. But I think the percent who got their top pick is pretty high, although sometimes it's off the wait list and not your initial assignment.

Returning students keep their spot through the length of their time at that school, and you only have to go through the choice process at the normal transition points (K, 6th, 9th) or if you want to change schools.

I only have one kid but I believe that sibs get a very high priority and they basically will not put them in different schools unless it's at parental request, sometimes the right fit for one kid in a family isn't the best choice for their sibling.

I still say the OP should start with Broomfield, as that's where the job is. Broomfield has lots of housing in their price category, lots of kids, good schools. There's certainly no point in living as far away as Stapleton, let alone Highlands Ranch.

No one recommended Stapleton or Highlands Ranch to the OP, we were all answering questions posed by someone else in the thread about neighborhoods in CO where people knew each other and neighbors interacted regularly and with good schools.
