Hello all,

Im moving to Denver in a few days and need some assitance on figuring out where to live. I am a young recent college grade and my job will be located downtown on 16th street. I like to do normal young person downtown things and love sports and intend to go to the mountains as much as possible.

I am looking for a 1 bedroom in the ~$750 range. What areas could I live in that would not have a killer commute and are reasonabily crime free?

Thanks all

We just had a similar conversation:

Check Craigslist for apartment rentals -- you *should* be able to find a place relatively close to downtown in your range. http://www.craigslist.org/

The post I linked to we were talking about downtown or nearby places, which naturally would be more expensive. If you do opt for something further out, I would recommend biking if you can or taking RTD (bus/light rail) downtown, as parking downtown is time-consuming and expensive -- why go through that headache if you don't have to? Try to find something that would be a LOCAL RTD fare to 16th st rather than a REGIONAL fare -- you'll save yourself a lot of money if you do. You can check out RTD at their website at www.rtd-denver.com

Default Uptown

Look in the uptown neighborhood east of downtown. Walking distance to work with lots of young people. I think for a little more you could get into the Uptown Square apartments with lots of amenities.

Try the area around DU as well. Lots of young adults, kinda "bohemian" atmosphere. Also Wash Park, but rents are higher there, especially for what you get, IMO.
