Bonjour! Hello,
We are looking for any french clubs-activities (mostly for families) anywhere from denver to evergreen/conifer area. We are a bilingual family and we do not want our children to forget their mother tongue, French!
Any suggestions, websites or fellow French moms and dads 4 french influenced play dates would be appreciated. We are in contact with the French Cultural and Language Center - Alliance Française de Denver which seems to be a great group, although more geared towards adult activities.
Merci et bonne journée !

Thanks for that link. I would never even thought of the existence of an Alliance Francaise in Denver.

I think I'll take a year's membership for it's not too costly, though I am not sure I'll be in Denver that long.

I used to be part of an Alliance Francaise in my teens. Those were the days I spoke fluent French. Now it's a thing of the past, I have lost spoken French totally owing to the lack of practice. I can read and write perfectly, though. French grammar is too difficult to drop.

I am not of French origin, by the way. The place of my birth used to be an ex-French colony. I regret for not being able to give you any information You should probably have more French connections here than me.

Do let me know the best bakeries in and around Denver.

There's one in Arapahoe road. Since discovering it, I've been invading it daily, despite having fat calorie fears.

I took French lessons at the Alliance Francaise (didn't learn much, but that was my fault, not theirs, they are a wonderful resource.)

For other French connections:
These are schools, but they might be able to help you find French-speaking families:
Denver Waldorf School
Denver International School

Continental in Cherry Creek used to carry some good French stuff.
Have read some encouraging info about Trompeau on East Evans.
Le Central is not fancy, but was a Denver tradition for us.

Default French groups

Hi - try www.MeetUp.com and search for French speaking groups in the Denver area. I'm a part of several MeetUp groups and they're great fun. Bon Chance!

My French speaking friends are raving about the food at Brasserie Felix in the Berekely/Highlands area. Though they had a few complaints about some incorrect usage of French on the menu, they said that this restaurant could easily be a hit in Paris with the food. I loved the food I have had there but I have never been to France to know a comparison.

You can say that Robespierre is one of my role models, though I don't support the public executions of the time.

French history is rich and appealing.

I was just saying that the whole French Revolution was a farce. It only led to bloodshed, that it was supposed to alleviate.
