It's quite common at Niagara Falls and a lot easier than if you are crossing in a car. Plus, the parking is quite a bit cheaper on the American side so why not walk across?

Actually, it is so easy I always wondered why Mexicans risk their lives coming in illegally through the desert when their fellow countrymen walk right through the open gates with no hassle.
