Anyone know any news about the QLine? a couple of years ago there was a lot of gossip about it being extended to Highland Park, maybe Ferndale but now nothing...

No, I don't see it being extended, it is just too slow and it is not really a MASS transit tool because the train cars cannot be connected to each other like light rail or heavy rail subway cars. I think a better possibility is a QLine for East Jefferson between downtown and Belle Isle.

The plans to extend it are sitting on a shelf. Dan Gilbert was the primary driving force behind Q line and the expansion and since his stroke, most of his projects have been put on a shelf until they see what happens with him.

I seem to remember that he came back to Detroit some time ago. I do not think he is back up at the helm yet. Assuming he is ok, things will likely start charging ahead again as soon as he does.
