Speak of the devil, I think I saw an unmarked Clinton car, WB 94 around 14 Mile, burgundy Ford, yesterday.

The speed on I-94 is 55mph throughout its entire length in Detroit. You just don't notice in Detroit because the cops are too busy ducking bullets to give speeding tickets.

There isn't much room for them to hide, either, except up the entrance ramps.

I don't know...there are plenty of twists and turns to hide. They could even have a cop with a speed gun on an overpass directing cops below. I've seen that in other places. Detroit could make a fortune on speeding tickets. There'd be so much clamor against it that they'd probably be forced to raise the speed limit.

Here's a map showing some of the proposed expressways in Detroit that never panned out. Note Grand River extended all the way out. Davison extended to McNichols, then Conner, then to downtown on Vernor. Also, Mound extended to I-94.

I think the whole USA could make a fortune on speeding tickets if they tried.

The Davison (M-8) was the first below grade freeway in the US. I miss the old design that they widened a decade or so ago. It really was like doing 70 through a tunnel as it seemed you could almost reach out your window and touch the median divider and sidewalls. I also recall there were bus stops (long abandoned) with steps leading down from the surface streets above.
