I agree especially with the exercise like its a prescription. I also agree with the cinnamon, I do feel it has benefits. Eating small meals 2 - 3 hours apart, excellent advice. Yes glucose monitoring. Know what your levels are and what foods or what exercise does to those levels. I exercise most days at a gym 4 to 5 days a week. Most are intensive exercises, weights, cardio. On days I don't go to the gym its at least walking several miles. I have always walked and have lifted weights much of my life. Having Diabetes was not a major life change to me activity wise. What was a change was having to deal with it since my 20's. Never being overweight and always active, yet all that didn't seem to keep it from touching me. I still developed it. Bad genes for me, both Mother and Father and Grandmother were all Diabetics.

THere is still hope for people that do develop Diabetes. Exercise is a huge part of keeping it at bay, as well as following the proper medical care and diet. It did for me or I would most likely have died in my 20's. I was 60 on Nov 9th. I decided what the hell, Im having a small cinnamon roll for a treat on my birthday. At least I will get the benefits of the cinammon, and a treat is much deserved now and then.

They forgot what to leave out: junk food, and reducing red meat and chicken to once in a while foods instead of everyday ones.

I didn't know that chicken was considered something that had to be limited like red meat. I don't eat red meat at all. I eat alot of chicken and turkey breast. Our choices are so limited as it is on what we eat.

I eat alot of fatty red meat and i don't have diabete's as i just don't buy into that it's all red meats fault with this disease as it's usually an over abundence of high glycemic carbs and trans fatty acids as these two things do more to down regulate the insulin receptors that cover our 100 trillion cells that are supposed to take up glucose from the blood stream.

Just eat as ''clean'' as you can and incorporate a good weight lifting and cardio regimen for 5 to 6 days a week and you should be able to keep those readings in check.

I think of 95 yo Jack Lalanne who still pumps iron 6 days a week as my insperation .
