I am trying to lose the last 10 pounds. My biggest struggle is with overeating in the evenings. I have been trying to fill up on low calorie microwave popcorn. Someone told me that microwave popcorn is very bad for you because of the chemicals in the bag and something else. Has anyone heard of this before? I love the stuff and eat a bad every night for about 200 calories. I haven't found another food that is as filling because of the volume that popcorn takes up.
What do you guys and gals eat that really keeps you satisifed? Just curious. Thanks.
If you are looking for something to cruch, make jicima chips. SO goood.
You can put them in slices like fries and add on lemon and chile powder or just eat them plain. I used to do cucumber and tomato w/ blue cheese dressing, but since I don't eat that anymore, I do cuc/tom and jicima
I actually have 10lbs to lose (totally enjoyed myself between Thanksgiving & New Year's) myself. I don't think there's a whole lot out there that's "filling" but I keep the snacks during the day to apples, celery w/a bit of peanut butter, carrots, & nuts.
I was sabatoged last night by a bag of microwave popcorn myself; after I ate it, it only served to remind me why I cut it out of my diet. However, it's not the end of the world....
I am trying to lose between 10 and 15 pounds. The nights are the hardest.
I love microwave popcorn....I have also heard it is bad b/c of the chemicals but I still eat it.
Right now I have a cup of tea and sugar free jello with fruit cut up and a little whipped cream. I think the tea is more filling but it also keeps me up at night...for bathroom runs
How about a bowl of cereal with fruit? I think that would be a good filling snack(dessert).
Anything with lots of fiber is filling and often not too high in calories - oranges, celery, carrots,
I use a microwave popper (presto) and air pop any popcorn without adding anything to it.
They are easier to find just before Christmas then disappear from the shelves until the next year.
Air popped popcorn is great. So are rice cakes spread with nonfat spreads. Carrots, celery, and any other raw veggies are good. So is a warm cup of sugar-free hot cocoa.
Are you eating enough for breakfast and lunch? Starting the day A daily bowl of oatmeal with nonfat, plain yogurt (greek kind if you're feeling spendy) has helped me stay fuller throughout the day and consquently lose weight.

Air popping is what I used to do also, but I can't find an airpopper in stores anymore. I guess most people don't use these anymore. I will look online.
