Apply everything you hear critically
Some one claimed I did not listen to professionals so I mentioned Dr McCullough. I listen to him for COVID info not dietary advice.

You shouldn't listen to him for COVID info. He has none to offer. He promotes MISinformation.

Misinformation means nothing. I can label everything I disagree with as misinformation. Misinformation means censorship from the left. You blindly believe the propaganda.

What are you even talking about? This is a thread about keto and fasting, nutrition and dietary needs. It has nothing to do with politics. Democrats go on stupid diets just as often as Republicans do.

I wanted to point out the flaw of assuming something is misinformation. They discredit the best medical people. Dr McCullough is being attacked by the medical community because he speaks the truth.

No, he's not being attacked. He's being discredited because he uses unreliable, vague, or (in the case of the China Study) debunked sources. He does no research of his own, and the only reason you've ever heard of him is because he is an internet celebrity who makes a FORTUNE peddling books and supplements.

I cheated on my diet after 3 months. i had some delicious pizza. then I started craving some candy and ate it 3 days in a row. it looks like I only gained 3 pounds. back on track. i need to be strict 95 percent of the time. my weight was stalling but I guess that happens. I am going to stick with it. if you fall of the horse you get back up. 3 pounds is not devastating if I can keep it only to 3 pounds. the pizza one time did not make me gain weight but 3 days of candy did. I was very naughty. I'm back to eating one time a day only meat.

cheating can be dangerous. you have to keep it to one meal every 2 months or it will spiral out of control. I know I am a sugar addict and must abstain from sugar but can have an occasional pizza every several months. if I get my hands on a bag of candy I will eat the whole bag like a sugar junkie. it feels like I'm injecting sugar into my veins. candy is off limits for me. they did studies and sugar is more addictive than cocaine.

This isn't really a sustainable way to think about eating for the rest of your life, though. Sugar isn't actually addictive, but denying yourself the occasional treat (that can be more than every few months) is making you obsessive about it, and that's not healthy, either. If your diet was sustainable and enjoyable, you wouldn't need to "cheat" on it, because the things you enjoy can fit in a healthy diet.

Just want to butt in with an observation (from someone who's gained and lost a lot of weight over a lifetime).

Diets don't fail because you fall off the wagon. Diets fail when you don't get back onto the wagon.
