I know it's probably tiring to see another question about Adkin's diet, but...
I'm a vegetarian, 37y female, 5'0, 109lb. 2 kids under 2y and work ( nurse on 3 12 hr. shifts) helped me lose a lot of the baby weight, except for these last 8lbs. I have forever made a diet of pasta, breads, bagels, etc. and enjoy a glass of wine often. Finally, though, I want to try the Adkin's after hearing about how successful people are on it. Do I understand correctly...the 1st 2 weeks should be 20g of carbs a day- meaning no counting calories or fat, just carbs?? I've always only counted fat grams, so this is so foreign to me. Does that mean I can basically eat what I want and how much, as long as I don't go over the 20g per day?
Thanks in advance...

It made me so sick... I could only do it for a week... then I just switched to low processed food/breads but all low fat foods/poultry, berries, veg, a bit of cheese for calcium...a lot less sugar- switched everything to splenda/Sug. Free.... I guess a modified low carb of sorts...still more low carb than most diets... but the fat and over indulgence of protien with atkins made me very ill and I had a hard time focusing... it isn't a good diet.

I have always watched fat grams, and never supported the Atkin's diet. But you know when ur so frustrated at being so close, but still having ur pants just too tight...and Trish lost 30lbs- wow! Did u gain any back after you stopped?
SKBS-what do you mean sick?
The truth is somehow between work (12 hr shifts) and 2 kids under 2, I gotta go to the gym more. Waah...rather go out to eat...hehehe
*Also, noone answered this..can u eat what u want in any amt. as long as you dont go over the alotted carb amount? (which by the way is one damn sandwich)
