What's the catch?? (kennel, home, free, year)

We're looking for a dog kennel, & I was checking out Ebay. How on earth can they be only a dollar? What am I missing??

Those are the STARTING bids.

The seller gets charged lower listing fees from eBay if they set their starting bid low, that's why. It'll go up, obviously, as people start bidding.

Just be careful of shipping charges, if it's not free shipping. That's where you can get screwed.

There also can be a reserve price on the items. Bids below that number will be accepted by it will also say "reserve not met". That means that at the end of the auction if the reserve (minimum) price isn't met, the item will not sell. Also check where the seller is located. Strongly urge that you only bid and buy from US and Canadian sources. Also look to see how long they have been a "seller". If its less than a year - I'd avoid them. Its very easy to lose money on ebay if you don't take precautions.

Oh and never EVER send payment by Western Union! Thats a well known "red flag" for a scam!
