She just turned a year in September. We also thought she looked like basenji, and even does a weird yodel like one but she can also bark. I'm starting to definitely think some kind of terrier cattle dog mix. Whatever it is, I love her, and her big ears!
My boy looks just like her!! Down to the color, freckles, general size, shape of body, head and ears, even the cute little red oval imbedded in the white marking on the forehead! I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out what he is since I rescued him! The people at the SPCA could only tell me they thought he was a terrier mix, but after countless research I've bounced between corgi, Australian cattle dog, chihuahua, jack russel and basenji (or a little of everything!). So interesting to see such a similar looking pup! I almost thought they were pictures of Benji by some miraculous chance! SO wish I could post some pictures
That's a Pembroke corgi mixed with something lighter boned. I've seen pet store purebreds that look less like the breed that they are reputed to be than that dog looks like a corgi. So possibly sold in a pet store as a purebred corgi.
Your dog looks a lot like a podengo, but I can't even begin to imagine how you would get a podengo from any sort of rescue situation, they are so rare in this country.
We were told when we got her she was a blue heeler. Obviously, she is not blue. She looks like she has the spots on her paws of a heeler but that's about it. We are completely clueless.

She looks like she might be part Jack Russell Terrier. Watch out, if she is. Highly intelligent, athletic, fun loving...but feisty and have a tendency to fight with other dogs. They sometimes have to wear muzzles during agility contests. True terrier personalities.
