At our old house, we met some new neighbors when they came to our door to ask if we had a poop bag! They were walking their dog around the block and he pooped at our curb. They had noticed we had dogs in our yard, so they figured we would have bags. The husband was a dentist, and he became our dentist and did a lot of work on my husband's teeth. We always used to joke that we were putting their daughter through college as a result of them not having a poop bag!

I'm a little crazy about it I guess, I'd say anal but won't make THAT pun....Judy seems to always go twice so I put three bags in my pocket and usually have one in my lab coat when I get to work, my colleagues say I respond to any 'code brown,' since I'm the 'bag lady.' Ha!

I don't know why others don't do the same, it doesn't take long to stick a bag or two in your pocket, bend pick up the poop and then dump it in the trash. If you have issues cleaning up after a pet you shouldn't have one, it's part of responsible ownership.

I have a little container that is hooked to Bella's leash so I always have bags. Easy peasy.

It's a lot more likely to happen in an off leash situation. Just saying ...

The owner was clear across the park not paying any attention to his dog so as a group we have decided that next time we will do just that! Or maybe put the poop filled bag on the owners car with a note that reads "oops forgot something"

I am also thinking of making some signs to stick on the gate so people see them as they are leaving.. I would like to put a photo of a pile of poop then write "Found dog poop if yours please claim and dispose of it properly...Thank you"
SOme really good ideas here! Like them!

I hate when people don't pick up, espcially in residential areas. I live in a COndo, and they are supposed to fine anyone $250 if they don't pick up after their dogs. They don't. I talked to the building manager about it & he said he didn't feel right fining someone, especially since theoretically that SOmeone is his boss. But one woman is the prime offender. SHe is over 70, very overweight, and has 2 overweight Bassets. her dogs even go in the hallway & she doesn't clean up! In her defense (altho I don't want to defend her), I really do think she just doesn't know when her dogs do it sometimes. She & the dogs move so slowly that they could poop behind her as she is moving.

And then there is the guy the other day whose dog left a HUUUUUGE load right on the little grassy area by the sidewalk. WHen I offered him a bag, he said "Oh, there's no need to pick it up. It's Biodegradeable!" I wanted to Degrade his Bio!!! But he was much younger & much bigger than me!

Biodegradable, ha. It's a health issue for humans and pets, parvo can be transmitted even to dogs who have been vaccinated as I recently discovered, and there are other health hazards. It's also against the law to leave it almost everywhere, and it stinks.

If you live in a condo there's an association so you have recourse other than the building manager. Maybe they could suggest hiring someone to do it? I'm thinking like along the lines of people who do chores/errands, or dog walkers for those who dislike cleaning up after their pets.
