It depends on the dog. My female GSD had some white around her muzzle at age 2. I got her as a puppy so I know her age is correct. Most of my other dogs were much older before they started showing grey.

Ours is white and brindle too . Yes, once her's started turning, it did turn fast. Almost over night it seemed! One side of her muzzle is naturally white, but the brown side is starting to blend in with it. Her eyebrows are very white and under her eyes is catching up!

Depends on the dog but most likely if he's otherwise healthy then its just his genetics the same as how some people start greying at 20 and others at 70. Our first lab that we got as a puppy started visibly turning grey between 2 and 3, mostly on his muzzle, groin area and feet. He isn't greying rapidly, but now at almost 5 the greying is noticeably progressing. Other than the greying he's completely healthy and the right amount of active for his age. He hasn't had any other health issues. In his litter, some of them are greying early and some hardly have any grey. His mom didn't start turning grey until she was 9 - 10, his dad turned grey much younger.

If your dog is otherwise healthy, then I wouldn't worry about it.
